Xiaomi has published a list of smartphones that will acquire the latest MIUI firmware based on the latest versions of Android. In addition to new devices, the coveted update will receive a number of models of past generations of the popular brand.
For Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition, beta versions of Android Pie have already been released. Some more representatives of the Mi8 and Xiaomi Mi Max 3 line will acquire their “piece of cake” by the end of this year. Release dates are for Chinese devices – global versions of the software may be slightly delayed.
There is 13 smartphones, which are updated to Android 8.1 Oreo. The exception was the Mi 5s Plus, which has problems with stability. Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus and Mi 5X are in beta testing – they will receive an update in the fourth quarter of 2018.
The company noted that the models that previously received two major updates to Android, and some older devices will not be able to upgrade to the ninth version of the “green robot”. However, a complete list of such devices has not been published.
